Another Spectacular Vintage of Le Dix from Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite

Acquired in 1988 by Eric de Rothschild, Viña Los Vascos is Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite's prestigious Chilean estate. The wines are true to their Chilean heart, born in the wild nature of the Colchagua Valley, but elaborated in the DBR Lafite spirit, allying ancestral know how with the latest techniques to produce wines of great elegance and precision.

Le Dix, the top wine from Viña Los Vascos, is made with the utmost care, just like their Bordeaux Grand Crus. Named the number 'ten' in french, it was first produced in 1998, ten years after the Rothschild's acquisition of the estate.

The grapes for Le Dix are carefully selected from the "El Fraile" plot and hand harvested and then aged in ex-Chateau Lafite Rothschild oak barrels from DBR Lafite's very own cooperage in Pauillac.

The 2019 vintage is an elegant and nuanced wine exhibiting elements of cassis, nutmeg, cinnamon, sweet berries, hints of cedar and cocoa, and shows unmistakable volume and smoothness from the warmer growing season. A blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Syrah, the 2019 is an extremely limited release with just forty cases available and recently awarded 94 points from wine writer and critic, James Suckling, this special wine definitely won't be hanging around our warehouse for long!
