The vineyards of Saint-Véran lie both to the north and south of the Pouilly Fuisse appellation at the southern tip of the Mâconnais. Only white wines made from the Chardonnay grape qualify. Saint-Véran's wines have more body and structure than a Mâcon Villages wine. They rarely have the power and structure to rival Pouilly Fuisse, but can represent excellent value.
