Our Wineries

After a long family association with Château Lafite and Château Mouton Rothschild, Waddesdon began marketing and allocating wines from the families’ estates in 1992; initially to visitors to the property. Today Waddesdon Wine represents wines from all three branches of the Rothschild family as well as a small number of carefully selected prestigious wineries from regions where the Rothschilds do not have a presence. The Rothschilds have been producing wine at Mouton since 1853; at Lafite since 1868 and at Château Clarke since 1973. Along with the esteemed châteaux in Pauillac, the Rothschilds also have estates across Bordeaux including Pomerol, Médoc and Sauternes. Further afield in France they have wineries in Limoux and Corbières, as well as a Champagne house. Globally, wines are made by the Rothschilds in Chile, Argentina, New Zealand, Napa and China. Our wineries have a commitment to regenerative and sustainable farming, and are predominantly family owned.
